Robbie Stickland, a versatile talent based in Dublin, wears many hats as a songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. His music serves as a sincere exploration of personal experiences encompassing themes of love, adolescence, and mental turmoil. Infused with a wobbly guitar-driven aesthetic reminiscent of Big Star and Mac DeMarco, Robbie's compositions evoke a nostalgic longing, transporting listeners back to their formative years as the sun dips behind the hills.
In February 2024, Robbie unveiled his latest full-length LP, "Lastingness," available on vinyl and digital platforms. Serving as a follow-up to 2019's "Warm Jeans In The Morning," this 8-track album was predominantly recorded to cassette tape in Robbie's apartment. "Lastingness" offers a collection of tape-saturated, sun-soaked melodies that chronicle the past three years of Robbie's DIY writing and recording journey, exuding echoes of Big Star, early Happy End, and Linda Smith's lo-fi charm.
The LP's release was celebrated with a packed performance at Bello Bar, capping off a busy period of gigs alongside acts such as Shamir, Stupid Son, Ronan Group, and Passersby. Additionally, Robbie graced the stage at Limerick's esteemed Féile na Gréine festival, further solidifying his presence within the Irish music scene.
